Niacinamide, also known as Vitamin B3, has numerous benefits to our skin. As a precursor of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD) and nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADP), the “currency” used by our body in glycolysis reaction, niacinamide increases both connective tissue and gel matrix component of dermis layer.

Besides this, niacinamide has been found to help in increasing epidermal ceramides thus improve skin hydration and strengthening skin barrier from water loss. By stimulating and regulating keratinocytes differentiation, aging related epidermal issues can be delayed.

Niacinamide interfering with melanosome transference to keratinocytes has also been demonstrated. This means that sun-induced pigmentation is reduced and interrupted during sun exposure. Along with the ability in reducing lipids production, clogs and acne are also reduced.

Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate (SAP): Unlike the famous L-ascorbic acid, this is a stabilized precursor form of vitamin C. It is cleaved enzymatically in the skin to become vitamin C and SAP is compatible with a higher pH of 6. This means less sensitivity issues and irritation side effects compared to the conventional unstable L-ascorbic acid.

Besides similar properties such as healing, brightening, whitening and strong antioxidation, SAP also exhibits strong antimicrobial ability. Niacinamide and SAP are compatible in both skin functions and pH level, boosting each other in reducing melanin deposition, clearing acne and delaying aging.

Pricier than the ordinary but works well!

Initially I thought WTH, its pricier that the Niacinamide serum from the ordinary, but I gave it a try anyway since my BFF recommended it. It works wonders, it even outs my skintone and helps with my pigmentation.

Value for $$$

Value for $$$, most potent Niacinamide products are priced much higher and if you spotted some below $30, their Niacinamide proportion is super low. Just look at their order in the ingredient list. This is my 5th bottle and still loving it! Do I get a coupon for loving it so much? *lol*

the ordinary Niacinamide ?!?

I thought this was another copy from the ordinary but boy was I wrong. Enough said, I noticed a slight improvement in a day, after 3 weeks, the effects are evident. You be the judge. Pictures uploaded here.

Noticed results almost immediately.

It's slightly pricier that the usual products I'll purchase, however I would say its worth the cash. A little drop goes a long way and my husband spotedt the differences after a week of application. The age spots were much fainter as compared to the ones I missed applying near my neck.
