How do we do natural skincare formulations and OEM manufacturing?

The process of making natural skincare products in ms.artisan laboratory generally involves several steps, including:

  1. Formulation: The first and most important step in making natural skincare products is to formulate a recipe or formula for the product. This involves selecting the active ingredients, preservatives, and other complimentary materials i.e preservatives that will be used in the product, and determining the appropriate ratios and concentrations.  Experienced formulators are also able to diagnose individual skin type needs using skin analyzers and customize accordingly.

  2. Mixing: Once the formula has been developed, the ingredients are mixed together in the appropriate order and proportions. Mixing may be done using a magnetic stirrer / mixer / blender.  It may seem relatively simple however there are many factors like environmental humidity, temperature and most importantly the order sequence to achieve the desired texture and efficacy.

  3. Heating and Cooling: Depending on the product, the mixture may need to be heated or cooled to achieve the desired consistency or texture. This process may be done using a hot plate or water bath, or by placing the mixture in a cooler.

  4. Testing: Once the product has been mixed and processed, it is typically tested to ensure that it meets quality and safety standards. This may involve testing for pH levels, viscosity, stability, bacteria count and other factors.

  5. Packaging: After the product has been formulated and tested, it is typically packaged in appropriate containers, such as jars, bottles, or tubes. The packaging may also be labeled with instructions for use, ingredient lists, and other relevant information according to HSA (Health science authority of Singapore).

  6. Quality Control: Skincare products are subject to strict quality control measures to ensure that they are safe and effective. This may involve testing for contaminants, stability, and other factors to ensure that the product is consistent from batch to batch.

Overall, the process of making skincare products in a laboratory involves careful formulation, mixing, testing, and quality control measures to ensure that the final product is safe, effective, and meets quality standards.

At ms.Artisan, we pride ourselves as one of the leading formulators of Natural Skincare in Singapore since 2004.
